• A linguist, who knows less about German than me, emailed me to ask about German compounds. To give her a satisfactory answer, I, after a long (too long) interval, consulted my German-Japanese dictionary and managed to find a good example by browsing through some amount of German texts (die Zeit online), which made me want to brush up on my German. (So I wanted to write this in German...)

• Yes, I had thought about it several times, but I don't believe it is really happening...I received an email from TOEIC, which says that each examinee has to sit for the exam with a mask on... I'm now thinking seriously of cancelling it.
